Announcing the University Services HOYAS Awards
We are pleased to announce the new University Services HOYAS Awards. These awards were developed to celebrate and recognize the work and contributions of our University Services colleagues. Spanning many business units and departments, University Services fulfills a critical role of service and support across the university. These awards provide a new opportunity to recognize ten colleagues who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the Georgetown community in outstanding ways.
Please review the award attributes and eligibility criteria below and consider nominating a colleague to receive an award. The nomination period is open now through January 31, 2025.
Award Categories
This award is open to full-time staff or AAP members of Georgetown University Services. Recipients will be selected for one or more of the following categories listed below:
- Hoya Innovator (Innovation & Change) – a team member who has implemented an innovative and sustainable project or is leading a positive change initiative for the university community.
- Outstanding Service – a team member who exemplifies the Georgetown spirit of service to others through their daily work and engagement with the campus community.
- LegacY – a team member who has made significant contributions to the GU community in addition to their day-to-day work, and exhibits an unusual long-term commitment and dedication to the goals and missions of the department or the institution as a whole.
- Alliance (Collaboration/Teamwork) – a team member who goes above and beyond to build community, fosters a team culture, and inspires others across teams to work collaboratively.
- Safety – a team member who goes above and beyond to create a safe working, learning, and living environment for members of the GU Community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Has completed at least one year of full-time employment as a staff member by January 31, 2025.
- Be a full-time employee in good standing.
- Be employed with University Services for at least one year and at the time of the nomination deadline.
- Within the University Services staff organizational structure, be junior to the level of Associate Vice President or Associate Dean.
Nomination Details
Any staff, administrator, or faculty member may make a nomination. To nominate a colleague or to self-nominate, please submit this form by January 31, 2025.
The ten awardees will each receive a $1,500 award. This award is a one-time payment, subject to applicable taxes and withholding.
Awardees will be announced in Spring of 2025.
We are grateful for the work of the Staff/AAP Executive Council for their partnership in the development of these awards. We look forward to celebrating and recognizing our University Services community through this new award opportunity.
