Hari Sastry

As Georgetown University’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Hari Sastry oversees central financial functions including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, procurement, and treasury services.
Since 2018, Sastry has served as the Senior Vice Chancellor and CFO at the University of Pittsburgh, managing the institution’s $3 billion budget and $5.5 billion endowment. Before his higher education career, Sastry worked 18 years in the federal government, including as Director of the Office of U.S. Foreign Assistance Resources at the State Department, managing a nearly $40 billion budget. He also held roles in the U.S. Department of Commerce and the White House Office of Management and Budget.
Sastry earned his Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
