The July Community Forum was held Thursday, July 14 at the Georgetown University Law Center. The discussion began with an update on the takeaways from the recent employee survey conducted by the University Staff/AAP Council. This was presented by Staff/AAP Council’s Out-Going President, Peter Luger. He emphasized that leadership is actively working on several initiates that survey respondents deemed critical, including classification and compensation restructures, the University’s Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and commuter benefits, Following Peter Luger, Marshall Taylor and Charles DeSantis provided a brief update regarding on-goring projects within and benefits. Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chris Augostini closed by presenting concepts of Georgetown Works: the University’s initiative to build long-term trust among employees in human resources, and modernize efforts through ideas such as, fairness, transparency and obligation. Augostini laid the groups for work to come in the following month on what it means to be an employee at Georgetown, the largest private employer in Washington, DC. The forum concluded with a question and answer session moderated by Augositini.
